Our History

home_morry-kamran
The Baghestanian heritage in rugs and antiques dates back four generations, to the late 1800s, in the old world bazaars of Tehran and Hamedan. Following the family tradition started by his grandfather, Morry learned about rugs from his father, mastering the intricacy of knot making, symbolism of floral designs, and the complex ingredients employed by master weavers to ensure each piece will last more than a lifetime.

In the 1970s, Morry’s business ties expanded Westward, to the shores of America, and after the Iranian Revolution, the Baghestanian Bazaar landed in Sacramento. Over the last thirty years, Kamran’s Oriental Rug Bazaar has become part of the fabric of Northern California’s furnishing and design community, providing antiques and rugs to the finest homes in the heart of California.

Serving the Greater Sacramento Community

Today, Morry and Kamran are preserving the family tradition by serving the greater Sacramento community with their expertise, experience, and superior service. Visit Kamran’s Oriental Rug Bazaar on 737 56th Street, Sacramento’s most prestigious Oriental rug showroom.

Kamran’s Oriental Rug Storefront in Sacramento

What happens after your family spends four generations in the rug business? First, you develop contacts all over the world, in every country where Oriental rugs are still handmade. You know where to get a certain style, a specific shade, an unusual shape. You understand what makes a rug valuable, what makes it a lasting heirloom. You develop a sense of your community, your customers, and the range of prices you need to offer so everyone can own an Oriental rug, if they want one. You develop relationships, so when an antique rug must be offered up for sale, or a special rug becomes available, sellers present them to you, because they know that your store will appreciate their value.

Finally, you gather all of these rugs, experiences and knowledge in one storefront. You dedicate your life to bringing Oriental rugs to the Sacramento community. You continue to teach, to train, to assist. You make more friends, every day, and create new customers who trust your knowledge and ability to have the rug they want and need, every time. That’s our store, Kamran’s Oriental Rug Bazaar on 737 56th Street, Sacramento, open every Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm.

We look forward to introducing ourselves, our inventory and making new friends. Anything is possible at Kamran’s!
