About Kamran
“It is my honor and joy to keep our family tradition going.”
Kamran Baghestanian has been an entrepreneur and a business owner since 1991. He has 27 years of experience in retail and business consulting. Kamran grew up in Sacramento, attended Rio Americano High School, American River College and Sacramento State University to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering. His experience in retail began during his high school years, working at Scofield’s fine furnishings’ rug department, where his father was their main supplier for authentic Persian rugs. He opened his first store on Arden way calling it “Kamran’s Antiques and Oriental Rugs” and then moved to East Sacramento inside the Elvas Center in 1993, doing business as Oriental Rug Bazaar (where his father is still continuing his business in the same location under Morry’s).
Soon after, he expanded his business operations to Lodi and then Napa. He purchased an old JC Penny building in downtown Lodi and transformed it into a 30,000 square foot showroom. A few years later Classic Living became San Juaquin’s exclusive Drexel Heritage dealer (A well-known furniture line). His business practices earned a #1 ranking for a furniture showroom in San Juaquin County by voters.
During this time he started traveling overseas to consult and help design furniture and oriental rugs with manufactures and Oriental rug producers. He started importing goods right up until the fall of the financial crash in 2008. The stress and demands of such large operations became more than he desired. Upon closing the Napa and Lodi locations, he sold the old JC Penny building and travelled for a while. He continued his consulting business, focusing on dental practices up until 2015. He decided to come back and follow his passion in interior design and fine furnishings. Urban 57 Home Décor & Design was opened with great success in 2015.
